Located in East Fremantle and overlooking the Swan River, the Swan Yacht Club has a proud history spanning more than 100 years. Established in 1903, the club offers both boating related facilities including water and land based pens and slipping facilities but also offers facilities for social membership and public functions. The original Clubhouse built in 1964 has been added to incrementally over the last 50 years but prompted by the amalgamation of the Fremantle Club a major refurbishment program was instigated.

Matthew Crawford Architects were appointed as project architects in 2014. The new works introduce significant new external functions areas to the northern side of the building, new bar facilities and fully refurbished main function areas upstairs and new administrative facilities and social areas downstairs. Universal access, deep sewer connections and fire services bring the building into the current century and a new graphic facade treatment to the front of the building will complete the project.
